“I’ll NEVER LEARN TO RIDE A BIKE”

That’s what my daughter said the other day during a family stroll.

Before I could respond, my husband gently corrected her: “Don’t speak that way.”

It hit me hard—because I’ve said similar things in my heart and maybe you have too.

– I’ll never lose the weight
- I’ll never have a baby – I’ll never get the job
- I’ll never meet the man of my dreams – I’ll never grow my platform – I’ll never catch up

It’s the second half of the year… and maybe you’ve already started to give up on what you hoped would happen by now.
But God showed me something:

My daughter was riding. She was doing well.
 But every setback made her speak defeat.
 And her dad? He was right there the entire time—steadying, encouraging, not giving up.

That’s who God is.
 He hasn’t left. He hasn’t given up on you.
 And He’s not worried about how many times you stumble.

So stop saying “I’ll never.”
 Start saying, “God, help me try again.”

Speak life to your friends. I hadn’t seen my frie

Speak life to your friends.

I hadn’t seen my friend in over 3 years — long-distance life.
But even through the distance, we’ve tried to show up for each other in the ways that count.

We finally saw each other.
She did my makeup, took my picture and sent it to me later…
And then came the message (swipe to see it 💬).

I never asked what exactly she meant — but I think she was referring to my beauty.
Of course, the beauty is blinding, let’s not lie 😌✨

But what she didn’t know was this:

💭 She challenged me to see myself.
🌱 She woke something in me I thought had gone quiet.
👧🏾 She spoke to the little dreamer girl in me.
❤️ She validated something I didn’t even know was still waiting for permission.

It may not mean much to you when you read it.
But for me? It was everything.
It was exactly what I didn’t know I needed to hear.

I remember asking you if we truly knew what we were saying “yes” to when we got married.

Did we know we were saying yes to three beautiful daughters, each with their own unique personalities?

Did we know we were saying yes to making countless decisions—some life-altering, others as simple as a walk in the park?

Did we know we were saying yes to always having each other’s backs, no matter what?

Did we know we were saying yes to choosing each other every single day, through both the good times and the bad?

Did we know we were saying yes to all the ways we would grow and change over the years?

Looking back, we may not have known every detail, but I am so grateful that, through every season, we have continued to choose each other.

You are the easiest “yes” I have ever given, and now that I understand even more of what that “yes” entails, I would say it all over again.

I almost let another day slip by because things weren’t exactly how I wanted them to be. I was sulking, frustrated that I wasn’t getting around to filming my videos. But then I heard the Holy Spirit whisper:

That hit me hard.

I got up, changed, and did the thing—even in the chaos.

So let me ask you: What are you waiting on?

The perfect moment? The perfect job? The perfect plan?

So much to say, yet words aren’t enough!

Life is full of opposites, and that’s what makes it beautiful.

This past year, I’ve:
✨ Cried both happy and sad tears.
✨ Been excited and frustrated.
✨ Enjoyed deep, meaningful friendships (how I prayed for this!).
✨ Felt betrayed but also helped and highly favored.
✨ Laughed till my stomach hurt.
✨ Second-guessed myself but kept going.
✨ Surrendered—daily (still a work in progress!).
✨ Grown so much and learned even more about myself.

Here’s what I’m grateful for:
🙏 My walk with God—This is my foundation.
💖 My partner—It’s the consistency for me!
👩‍👧‍👦 My amazing kids—They challenge me and make me better (parenting is no joke!).
👭 My sisters—The blessing of three sisters is unmatched.
🌱 Intentional friendships—I poured in, I was poured into, and my friends showed up HARD for me!
🏠 My community—My church, my people, my tribe.

This journey of growth, surrender, and love has been everything. Surrender truly looks good on me. 💕

Stop Mourning and Start Living.

Oh, the pressure that comes with the end of the year.

It’s the time when we’re reminded of how we started, full of excitement and promises to ourselves. But now, it feels like we fell short of our goals, and some of us are in full-blown mourning.

Maybe this is the third year in a row where you feel like you didn’t make it. Or perhaps you’ve made some progress, but all you can focus on is what you haven’t accomplished.

Here’s the good news: God’s word for you today is this—stop worrying and start living.

Time is important, but it’s also a social construct. You don’t have to wait for January to begin again. December isn’t over, and there’s still time to make progress, no matter how small.

Don’t let regret paralyze you. Stop mourning and start living. God’s got you.

Walking with God has truly been a journey for me.

Walking with God has truly been a journey for me. Along the way, I’ve had moments where I needed to question certain things—sometimes seeking answers from the Holy Spirit, other times from mentors, and always turning to the Bible for guidance.

There were practices I wasn’t comfortable with, and as I gained more insight, I began to understand why.

Some were simply insensitive, others sounded correct but contradicted God’s Word. Some made me feel unworthy, while others implied we always had to be in a certain “perfect” state to see God move in our lives.

Through it all, I’ve learned to trust God’s Word and the Holy Spirit for clarity and truth.

I actually think we should all do that too and never be afraid to ask questions in your walk with God

There Is No Room for “You”

Life has a way of shaping us, pushing us to protect ourselves—especially from pain, betrayal, and disappointment. Most of us, myself included, live in a constant state of self-preservation, putting up walls to guard against the hurt that others can inflict.

I’ve always been someone who loves deeply and wants to give my all in relationships. But there’s a catch: this openness can make me vulnerable, easily taken advantage of by others. So, I quickly learned to protect myself like you.

I started building barriers, thinking I was safeguarding my heart. While I still got hurt sometimes, the pain didn’t cut as deep—or so I thought.

The fear of being taken advantage of became a constant companion. Whenever I sensed someone might cross that line, I would begin to pull away.

I’d offer only pieces of myself, holding back just enough so that I could flee before they could even think of hurting me. I thought I was in control, but in reality, fear was the one steering my actions.

I remember a specific incident. One day, I found myself already on guard, suspecting that a person I cared for might exploit my kindness. As I silently muttered to myself, “I hope she doesn’t take advantage of me,” I suddenly heard a voice, as clear as day, asking: “Who are you?”

In that moment, I realized a profound truth: in the journey to surrender, the “self” has no place.

The version of me that fights for self-preservation, that clings to control and seeks to protect at all costs, is not welcome.

Surrender means laying everything down at the cross—my fears, my defenses, and my attempts to preserve myself. It means learning to love as God loves, even when it makes no sense and even when it risks pain. It means allowing Him to guide my heart and show me whom to trust.

On this journey, I am reminded again and again: I cannot protect myself, and I cannot preserve my own heart. The only way forward is to submit all of it to God, to rely entirely on Him. In surrender, “self” is not invited. Only trust, obedience, and dependence on God are welcome.

Do you really trust God?

If you ask the average Christian, most of us would quickly answer, “Yes, of course, I trust God.” We sing of His goodness and speak of His faithfulness, but if we’re honest, do we truly trust Him?

I was asked similar questions just last week. Without hesitation, I answered, “I trust God. I believe Him.” But that got me thinking. Do I really?

Just this week, I found myself hesitating to pay my tithe. I held onto it, waiting, just in case an unexpected expense came up and I needed the funds to cover it. I delayed until the last minute. Does that sound like trust to you? It made me realize that many of us trust God in theory—we were taught to—but in practice, we often don’t.

God is a healer; I know that in theory. I’ve even seen His healing power, sometimes in my own life. But do I fully trust Him to heal my sick child? Or do I keep the medicine close by, just in case God “takes too long”?

God is a provider; I believe that. But I find myself waiting for my next paycheck before I give to the church, just in case something unexpected happens and He doesn’t act quickly enough to provide. So my own money is there to “back Him up.”

Do I truly believe, in a practical sense, everything I’ve learned about God over the years? Or do I simply know He can do it, even believe He will do it, but still keep a backup plan in place, ready to step in “if He doesn’t?”

So, do I really trust God—or do I rely on myself, just in case?

Can I trust God to take care of me,? Can you? For real.

After church today, all it took was the pastor men

After church today, all it took was the pastor mentioning Nando’s in his message, and I found myself sitting at a table there soon after.

My love affair with Nando’s started in the UK, where wings and corn on the cob became my go-to order. Naturally, I stuck to tradition. We ordered a variety of wings, ranging from extra hot (for the brave) to mild (for my baby sister). Alongside that, we got a bowl of rice, fries, and, of course, a side of corn on the cob for good measure.

Now, was it as good as the UK standard? Honestly, no. Perhaps that’s the nostalgia speaking. But it was still a solid meal. The service? Excellent. The food? Good enough to hit the spot. But that mango lemonade? Never again.

All in all, it was a satisfying experience, and I’d probably find myself going back maybe alone this time lol!!

Many people feel called to do something significan

Many people feel called to do something significant, but they hesitate, waiting for the perfect moment or for everything to be fully prepared before they begin.

Just this week, I realized I had been doing the same—turning what God has called me to do into a project, trying to get everything in order before taking any action.

But God is asking you to take that first step, trusting Him to work out the details as you move forward.

My little daughter loves Frozen, so we watch it often. Remember when Elsa sings “Let It Go” and with each step, the ground beneath her transforms into an ice path? She realizes the power she holds as she confidently walks forward, her dress changes, and she creates a magnificent palace. That’s what it’s like to walk in your true calling—trusting God as He illuminates your path. When you step into who you truly are, you begin to see how much more you can do.

God doesn’t always give us all the details at the start. Imagine if Noah knew from the beginning that he’d have to gather all the animals. He might have spent years planning how to manage that instead of building the ark. God asks for faith—He wants us to take the first step, not wait for all the answers. You can’t know everything upfront, but as you move forward, He reveals the way and empowers you to do what needs to be done.

If God called you, He will guide and equip you. So why are you trying to do it all yourself? Trust Him and step out in faith.
