That hit me hard.

I got up, changed, and did the thing—even in the chaos.

Oh, the pressure that comes with the end of the year.

It’s the time when we’re reminded of how we started, full of excitement and promises to ourselves. But now, it feels like we fell short of our goals, and some of us are in full-blown mourning.

Maybe this is the third year in a row where you feel like you didn’t make it. Or perhaps you’ve made some progress, but all you can focus on is what you haven’t accomplished.

Here’s the good news: God’s word for you today is this—stop worrying and start living.

Time is important, but it’s also a social construct. You don’t have to wait for January to begin again. December isn’t over, and there’s still time to make progress, no matter how small.

Don’t let regret paralyze you. Stop mourning and start living. God’s got you.

Walking with God has truly been a journey for me.

Walking with God has truly been a journey for me. Along the way, I’ve had moments where I needed to question certain things—sometimes seeking answers from the Holy Spirit, other times from mentors, and always turning to the Bible for guidance.

There were practices I wasn’t comfortable with, and as I gained more insight, I began to understand why.

Some were simply insensitive, others sounded correct but contradicted God’s Word. Some made me feel unworthy, while others implied we always had to be in a certain “perfect” state to see God move in our lives.

Through it all, I’ve learned to trust God’s Word and the Holy Spirit for clarity and truth.

I actually think we should all do that too and never be afraid to ask questions in your walk with God

There Is No Room for “You”

Life has a way of shaping us, pushing us to protect ourselves—especially from pain, betrayal, and disappointment. Most of us, myself included, live in a constant state of self-preservation, putting up walls to guard against the hurt that others can inflict.

I’ve always been someone who loves deeply and wants to give my all in relationships. But there’s a catch: this openness can make me vulnerable, easily taken advantage of by others. So, I quickly learned to protect myself like you.

I started building barriers, thinking I was safeguarding my heart. While I still got hurt sometimes, the pain didn’t cut as deep—or so I thought.

The fear of being taken advantage of became a constant companion. Whenever I sensed someone might cross that line, I would begin to pull away.

I’d offer only pieces of myself, holding back just enough so that I could flee before they could even think of hurting me. I thought I was in control, but in reality, fear was the one steering my actions.

I remember a specific incident. One day, I found myself already on guard, suspecting that a person I cared for might exploit my kindness. As I silently muttered to myself, “I hope she doesn’t take advantage of me,” I suddenly heard a voice, as clear as day, asking: “Who are you?”

In that moment, I realized a profound truth: in the journey to surrender, the “self” has no place.

The version of me that fights for self-preservation, that clings to control and seeks to protect at all costs, is not welcome.

Surrender means laying everything down at the cross—my fears, my defenses, and my attempts to preserve myself. It means learning to love as God loves, even when it makes no sense and even when it risks pain. It means allowing Him to guide my heart and show me whom to trust.

On this journey, I am reminded again and again: I cannot protect myself, and I cannot preserve my own heart. The only way forward is to submit all of it to God, to rely entirely on Him. In surrender, “self” is not invited. Only trust, obedience, and dependence on God are welcome.

Do you really trust God?

If you ask the average Christian, most of us would quickly answer, “Yes, of course, I trust God.” We sing of His goodness and speak of His faithfulness, but if we’re honest, do we truly trust Him?

I was asked similar questions just last week. Without hesitation, I answered, “I trust God. I believe Him.” But that got me thinking. Do I really?

Just this week, I found myself hesitating to pay my tithe. I held onto it, waiting, just in case an unexpected expense came up and I needed the funds to cover it. I delayed until the last minute. Does that sound like trust to you? It made me realize that many of us trust God in theory—we were taught to—but in practice, we often don’t.

God is a healer; I know that in theory. I’ve even seen His healing power, sometimes in my own life. But do I fully trust Him to heal my sick child? Or do I keep the medicine close by, just in case God “takes too long”?

God is a provider; I believe that. But I find myself waiting for my next paycheck before I give to the church, just in case something unexpected happens and He doesn’t act quickly enough to provide. So my own money is there to “back Him up.”

Do I truly believe, in a practical sense, everything I’ve learned about God over the years? Or do I simply know He can do it, even believe He will do it, but still keep a backup plan in place, ready to step in “if He doesn’t?”

So, do I really trust God—or do I rely on myself, just in case?

Can I trust God to take care of me,? Can you? For real.

After church today, all it took was the pastor mentioning Nando’s in his message, and I found myself sitting at a table there soon after.

My love affair with Nando’s started in the UK, where wings and corn on the cob became my go-to order. Naturally, I stuck to tradition. We ordered a variety of wings, ranging from extra hot (for the brave) to mild (for my baby sister). Alongside that, we got a bowl of rice, fries, and, of course, a side of corn on the cob for good measure.

Now, was it as good as the UK standard? Honestly, no. Perhaps that’s the nostalgia speaking. But it was still a solid meal. The service? Excellent. The food? Good enough to hit the spot. But that mango lemonade? Never again.

All in all, it was a satisfying experience, and I’d probably find myself going back maybe alone this time lol!!

Many people feel called to do something significant, but they hesitate, waiting for the perfect moment or for everything to be fully prepared before they begin.

Just this week, I realized I had been doing the same—turning what God has called me to do into a project, trying to get everything in order before taking any action.

But God is asking you to take that first step, trusting Him to work out the details as you move forward.

My little daughter loves Frozen, so we watch it often. Remember when Elsa sings “Let It Go” and with each step, the ground beneath her transforms into an ice path? She realizes the power she holds as she confidently walks forward, her dress changes, and she creates a magnificent palace. That’s what it’s like to walk in your true calling—trusting God as He illuminates your path. When you step into who you truly are, you begin to see how much more you can do.

God doesn’t always give us all the details at the start. Imagine if Noah knew from the beginning that he’d have to gather all the animals. He might have spent years planning how to manage that instead of building the ark. God asks for faith—He wants us to take the first step, not wait for all the answers. You can’t know everything upfront, but as you move forward, He reveals the way and empowers you to do what needs to be done.

If God called you, He will guide and equip you. So why are you trying to do it all yourself? Trust Him and step out in faith.

God has had me on a journey to surrender—a journey where I’m called to let go of everything I know and free fall into the unknown. But here’s the truth: I despise free falls. I like to have a sense of control, to feel the ground firmly beneath my feet. It’s like being on a roller coaster ride: exhilarating for some, but terrifying for me.

With every step forward, fear wraps itself around me. I’m scared—really scared—about what comes next, about what to do and how to do it. I’m afraid of losing my essence, losing what I know, losing everything that has defined me for so long. This journey has been unfolding for some time now, and whenever I manage to let go, even just a little, I find myself scrambling to retreat, desperate to reclaim the comfort of the familiar.

What if I lose the me that I’ve so carefully built over the years? The me that I’ve grown accustomed to, the one I’ve convinced myself is “good enough.” The what-ifs echo in my mind, relentless, like the churning anxiety that comes with every terrifying plunge. Because, let’s be honest, surrender feels exactly like a free fall: disorienting, unpredictable, and far from easy.

It’s a surrender of every safety net, every defense mechanism my mind has constructed to protect me. But the strange thing about a free fall is that after the chaos of falling, there’s a moment—fleeting yet unmistakable—where I glimpse a part of myself that feels... relieved. As if there’s a piece of me that has been yearning to let go all along, to release control and discover something new.

So here I am, hands thrown up, defying my better judgment. I’m screaming, I’m resisting, I’m fighting every part of this ride. But maybe—just maybe—on the other side of fear, I’ll meet the person I’m truly meant to become.
Because when I fear the free fall, I remind myself of one thing: it’s not about the fall; it’s about who I’m falling to.

Recently, my car had a problem, and naturally, this was stressful. While Mr. Possible( hubby) and I were discussing what this might mean, we prayed about it. In our hearts, we prayed for the car to hold up long enough to drop off the kids, and then we could head to the mechanic. After we dropped them off, we started calling the mechanic, and this got me thinking.

Do we (humans) trust God fully? If we trusted Him for the car to get us to the kids’ drop-off, why couldn’t we trust Him for the car to start working well again? Isn’t it the same prayer?

Often, as Christians, we unknowingly come to God with a mindset of shared responsibility: “Lord, you handle this, and I’ll handle that.” We begin building trust only when we feel helpless.

For instance, you may not trust God to heal a headache because you have pain relief nearby, but as soon as the doctor says they don’t know what’s wrong, that’s when we start calling on God.

God wants us to trust Him with/in everything—even the things we think we can handle ourselves.
I’m learning that trusting God is a lifestyle, not just an SOS.

This summer, the girls attended a camp. On the first day, they stood in front of a door, telling me it was locked. I came down from the car, tried calling the teacher, and got frustrated when she didn’t answer. Just as she was on her way, I realized I hadn’t even tried the door myself. As soon as I did, it opened effortlessly.

We had been standing in front of an open door the entire time!

This experience reminded me of how many of us stand in front of open doors, waiting for God to make a move. Sometimes, we’re stuck outside simply because we’ve been told the door is locked and we don’t even try to confirm it, instead we get frustrated.

God wants you to know that you might be standing in front of an open door right now. Don’t let fear, doubt, or what others have said about this door keep you from trying and stepping through.

Recently, I studied the story of Blind Bartimaeus, who was shouting, “Jesus, have mercy on me.” When people told him to keep quiet, he shouted even louder. Jesus stopped in His tracks and asked him, “What do you want?” Bartimaeus mentioned his need, and he was healed.

This story blew my mind. It reminded me that we all have to shout even louder.

Years ago, I started writing and loved everything about sharing my thoughts. Soon, opinions started coming in from everywhere—what to share, what not to share, condemnations, etc. Despite having a great support system, one negative opinion often felt louder than all the support combined.

Bartimaeus was blind and desperate. He needed healing more than he needed validation. He knew his help came from God alone. While some people might have given him money in the past, he knew their opinions didn’t matter. What he needed was healing. This was his one chance to speak up, and no one was going to stop him. He would rather die trying than keep quiet.

Many of us stay silent because of what someone said. We’ve curled up in a corner, licking our wounds. Meanwhile, all you need to do is shout even louder! Imagine if Blind Bartimaeus had kept quiet when he was told to. Imagine if the woman with the issue of blood had worried about what people would say, considering she was unclean. Imagine if the four leprous beggars had stayed at the gate and died of hunger because of fear and being unclean.

I don’t know what they have said about you, how many people have told you to shut up, or how many have tagged you as not good enough. I don’t know what you have even told yourself. How desperate are you to do what you know you were called to do?

It’s time for you to “shout louder!” And watch God use you.

Trust is the Only Option

Every morning, I take the girls to the bus stop, often finding myself in the middle of fervent prayers, hoping to catch the bus. Yesterday was no different. Knowing I had likely missed the bus, I prayed, “Holy Spirit, help me not to miss the bus.” Immediately after, I picked up my phone to check the distance to the next bus stop, just in case we had missed this one, despite my prayer.

As we drove, we passed the bus driver’s house and saw the bus was not there—a usual sign that it had already left. I found myself saying, “We have missed the bus,” contradicting the prayer I had just made.

Approaching the bus stop, I couldn’t see the bus in sight. However, as we got closer, I saw some students waiting for the bus. We had not missed it after all.

At that moment, the Holy Spirit showed me a profound truth about prayer. We often pray and simultaneously prepare for our prayers to fail. We think this is the prudent thing to do. When we don’t see immediate results, we start confessing the negative, effectively negating our prayers.

When you trust God, there are no alternatives. Trust is the only option. God is calling us to trust Him fully. As soon as you pray, believe that your prayer has been answered. Trust is the only option—period!
