This might be a little graphic but I just want to let everyone know that I am okay. I am a survivor of domestic violence with a boy I dated for 8 months.
I really thought everything was fine but he constantly questioned me about cheating and flirting. Non sense. I never looked at someone the way he looked at me. Thought I loved this boy.
How can someone that ‘loves’ me do this to me? The scars on my chest are way worse and extend down to my right nipple, completely scarred. The skin on my shoulder has been completely skinned. And i have bruising on my rib cage, neck, and my muscles. I was kicked out of a moving vehicle, then beaten and dragged, as I blacked out and was left lying there in my own puddle of blood.
Doctors said I could have died if I had not made it when I did. I am so blessed and beyond lucky to be alive and have so much support from friends, family, and strangers. As I try to recover, I ask you to please keep me in your prayers. I have to wear a neck brace for 3-4 weeks, an arm cast and I can barely walk for now. Thank you for all the love. I hope to be an inspiration to women and anyone involved in domestic violence.
OMG!!! Ladies! Ladies!! Ladies!!! The signs are always there. Don’t keep up with a woman beater, cos they never change.
I like the new face of your blog, thought I was in the wrong place when I got here. Pitiful story, I’m glad this girl is fine now. Can you imagine, so his plan was to disfigure this pretty face! Smh!!! Unfortunately research shows that most Nigerian women see domestic violence as normal. What we need is a re-orientation. I had this very good friend from secondary school. When we entered uni she started dating this guy who used to panel beat her but she didn’t tell me. She was also living with the guy. One day I went to visit them @ her uni and she told me what she had been going through. I managed to convince her that the guy’s behaviour was unacceptable and she needed to move out, in fact break up with him. She accepted and we went, got a taxi and moved all her things from his house to hers. The guy was angry with me and stopped talking to me but I couldn’t care less. Only for me to go back to my own uni and find out after a while that she had made up with him.
Yes oh! The signs are always there during dating, its just that most girls pretend to believe the man will change his attitude later, perhaps out of despiration to get married.I had a friend of blessed memory, her husband during their curtship would beat her with his trouser belt and inflict injuries on her, despite continous advise from friendS to drop him went into deaf ear.The battering continued after their marriage anD she was always having high blood pressure as a result of unhappy home and also prematured babies, yet she refused to quite d relationship. To cut long story short, she died in a questionble circumstance. As you can see,she would have saved herself of the miserable life she lived befor her dealt if she had listened to friends and even relations advise to quite the marriage.May her soul rest in peace.

Too sad that such a young pretty girl had to go through this. The fact that the signs are always there can not be over ephasized! Please ladies be wise, it might just be an over the top show of aggression or a quick slap that is closely followed by oh im so sorry and lots of presents. Do not ignore any sign of abuse even verbal. It gradually gets worse each time. Talk to someone about it. Where there is any form of abuse it definitely isnt love. Come on, love has standards 1cor. 13
