During pregnancy some of us had the best bodies of our lives, we couldn’t even believe ourselves, suddenly fuller breasts then some clothes starts giving you the fit you did not expect and also the bum on trousers became something to die for, did I mention that you also added a bit of weight…hmmm and remember how you kept encouraging yourself that once the baby is out , you will get back to normal and lose all the ‘baby fat’…okay fast forward to 9months, the baby is out and all of a sudden you start adding more weight, I hope this happened to you too not just me, and you get frustrated because those clothes you packed up to go back to after the baby are not your size and the more you look at them, the more you lose hope on ever getting back there.

Then don’t forget the name calling, people all of a sudden start calling you fat, some will say, you can never get back to where you were…and some don’t even need to say anything they just look at you and you can see the shock and sadness in their faces… I know that first hand, I went from being 58 to 74 or so and Inshort it was so sad for me as I started wearing bigger clothes, dont we jut envy those people that as soon as they give birth they are back to normal. One day I saw myself on the mirror and just cried because all my clothes could not fit and I did no want to buy new ones as I chose to live in denial, the more I tried to wear those skinny clothes , the more I got frustrated as I was bursting out of it seams and I was not sure how big I was until I went to see my parent and siblings , they were all shocked and advised I registered in the gym and went further to say hubby tried…lol. Hubby also did not like it and talked about it but did not place sooooo much emphasis on it… I realised better how he felt about it when he was to travel the next day in the morning and had not finished his packing but drove out to get me a pair of working out trainers by 10:30pm….lol! Inshort that made me very devoted in my working out that I started losing a lot of weight by the time he saw me , he was in awe….
Okay here is the thing, after the baby, you may get fatter, you may add a lot of weight and even get a bit depressed but know that you will lose all especially if you don’t get pregnant immediately… It is a phase but to get your body back quicker, you will need to make it to the gym… Don’t feel sorry for yourself, just know it is a healthier lifestyle and at the end you will be the happiest.
I can proudly say I weigh 63 or 63.7 but to me it is 63( checked three weeks ago) though I have not been in the gym for over six months, just imagine if I had,… so don’t feel sad about this new weight, enjoy this phase till you are ready to shed some weight and you will definitely lose it.
