Nobody did much of anything on BabyJ when she was born but you need to see what was done on
Lady A, as she had three different hands to give her a bath, they threw her up so she won’t be scared, massaged/ moulded her bum so it won’t fall flat like pancakes, twisted her hands backwards, I especially hated this one, then they mould the head too, what is there to be moulded Biko?
I remember arguing with my someone on the relevance of the twisting of the hand to the back and and they said so the child can touch her back from a particular angle? Ha! And when she touches her back then what?
I watched someone give a baby the first bath, omg! It was sheer horror, it felt to me like they wanted to shred the poor little skin away, they used a straw sponge and red oil, you need to see the scrubbing! And with every painful squeal the child made, I saw a sense of satisfaction in the lady’s face. Chai! I nor go gree o.
I tried to ask what the massage was for and some were non-explainable, they said “na so we come meet am“
There are so many ways that kids are given a bath that I personally think are unnecessary, come to think of it, how many Öyibo people did all this ritual and most of them have the most flexible body ever.
Does all this things really work, is it necessary, should it be continued or it should be scraped completely, and does it really do anything for the body?
