Today I read that Korede Bello of Mavin Crew was invited to a church to sing his hit single, “GodWin” and was even backed up the chior and a Pastor in Texas challenged this saying, ‘the church was wrong to invite Korede, who is not a gospel singer, to perform on their altar’. Pastor Olusola feels certain questions have to be asked before anyone is allowed to sing in God’s house, e.g is he born-again? Is he sanctified with the spirit of God and baptized in the holy spirit? etc.

This is my take on this, I don’t know exactly if it is wrong or right especially since the guy sang a ‘christian song’ but I personally believe there is a place and time for everything… I Love Korede Bello so much, inshort that his voice has a way it gets to me, I love this GodWin song that it is even part of Mrpossible and I vocabulary, I have a post with Godwin on it, I feel he has a little church in him and I am a BIG fan of his voice. If I was at that service though, my thought would be, are we sincerely praising God or we are  just grateful that a little bit of the club could come to church and finally we can say we are not missing out or we finally fit in? Are we going to be carried away that a Mavin singer came to church? I  personally would  be so distracted and would imagine him singing another hit song like “Dorobucci” or “Adaobi”, that is if it doesn’t play in my head throughout service,  I would keep staring his direction till he leaves service that day, I guess.  T

There was a time Dbanj came to our church and until the guy left the building I almost could not concentrate, it was even babyJ’s dedication but I had Dbanj on my mind…hehehehe. Other questions that may come to my mind is, is it a marketing strategy to get people to come to the church and how will the church members tell outsiders, lemme try ” My Pastor is so cool, Korede Bello is coming to our church to sing” you better come and will the church  be referred to, for sometime as the church that brought Korede Bello, at least that will get some people to attend, is that good advertisement and how long can the church keep up especially when new members need some more vibes.

How many people came to watch Korede Bello, how many left after he left and how many came to just be blessed in the house of the Lord? People say the church is becoming worldly, what is your take on this?

Well it will be unfair not to add the Korede’s  Song to the this post, Brother Korede please…
