I was doing my devotion recently and I read the story of the woman with the issue of blood and I learnt a great lesson from there, it is Luke 8:40-48, let me just rush through what was written. There was this guy, he was a big guy and his only daughter was dying, he came to meet Jesus to tell him what was happening knowing that Jesus can heal the daughter, Jesus started following him home and of course there was a crowd around Jesus, somehow this woman who has had the issue of blood for 12 years, tried, stretched, reached out to touch Jesus and she was healed! Reading that passage , it just hit me, how sometimes as christians we need something from God but when we look around and we think God is paying attention to someone else’s problem better than ours, we sulk because we think that person has got God’d attention and we are just left alone, do you get me? Christ may be raising someone from the dead, meanwhile you have cancer and you feel like oh what about me? or sometimes we feel that Oh,there are too much problems in the world, people need Jesus in their big problems, mine is just too small for him let me remain there and sulk. I can only imagine if the woman with the issue of blood did not push through the crowd, if she felt “oh,he will just follow this rich man not a poor person like me” she did not have time for all that, she did not put herself in a self-pity situation, her goal was just to touch his garment, she did not need him to follow her to her house, she was not jealous that he did not notice her ailment and give her same attention as the man that had his daughter dying, I can imagine while she was pushing through, people might even say ” what is your problem? oh you are just bleeding for 12 years, is it as bad as this man’s only daughter that is dying? Are you not alive?” but she knew she had a problem that God could fix, if she just had faith in him,if she just reached out to touch him and she touched him and her healing came. What are you believing God for? No matter how little it seem, it is valid and for the fact God is raising the dead and healing an entire family from their problem doesn’t mean he cannot heal or meet you at your point of need, don’t be discouraged, hold on to his word and reach out and touch in faith, God’s presence is available and your miracle is here.
